Skills and Support
Skills and Support
The project, ‘Inspiring Families’, was given to SERCO by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to manage throughout the borough for three years and Twin will be one of the partners helping to deliver the programme. We will assist families with their job searches, applications and interviews as well as additional coaching to motivate participants and build up their confidence while taking into consideration their individual circumstances.
Twin’s Group Marketing Director, Adrian Butcher, commented: “Twin Employment and Training has delivered programmes for 22 years, helping thousands of society’s less privileged people - including some where whole families are affected.
“For Twin, belief in people and their potential is vital. We then apply skills in understanding customers, boosting their real and self-perceived ‘value’ to themselves and their families and providing practical, employment oriented skills. We’re delighted to partner again with Serco to deliver the Inspiring Families programme, for its professionalism and management support.”
Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), the programme aims to support participants so that they are work-ready and there are varying levels of eligibility to ensure that individuals throughout the borough have a fair chance to enrol.
Those eligible include families affected by domestic violence, those with a range of health problems and children who are identified as ‘in need’ or are subject to a Child Protection Plan.
Gareth Moss, Serco’s Director for Employment, Skills and Enterprise, said: “The Inspiring Families programme is a fantastic opportunity for people with disadvantaged backgrounds to get the right tailored support to move into employment.
“It’s a great example of integrating a number of agencies to provide a holistic service tackling family issues and offering support that is truly tailored to participants’ needs.”
